Giving Tuesday is right around the corner. This year it will take place on November 29, 2022. It’s an easy and impactful way to support Heartspring and the families we serve. Last year, we had a key number of Giving Tuesday Ambassadors who supported us on Giving Tuesday.

One of those supporters was Susan Thornburg-Veatch. Susan has been both a parent of a child who received services and an employee at Heartspring. She’s seen how Heartspring can impact families from all angles. Her youngest son, Carson, received physical and occupational therapy right before he started Kindergarten

“I know, first-hand, how that propelled Carson to succeed through school,” Thornburg-Veatch said. “I know without those services he wouldn’t have been able to be as successful as he was.”

In just one day Susan raised $500 for Heartspring. She did this all through Facebook. She posted multiple times including stories and a video about why she supports Heartspring. She just used her phone and talked from her heart like she was talking to some friends.

“If you could, please give something because that helps someone else,” Thornburg-Veatch would say in her videos. “Think about the kids who are struggling and parents can’t get them here because they live counties away and can’t afford gas to get here for their kids’ therapies.”

We are still looking for Giving Tuesday ambassadors for this year. And it’s even easier because we’ll be using the JustGiving platform which allows you to campaign through Facebook, Twitter or email. Sign up here. You can also email mfleming@heartspring.org if you have any questions.
